Have you ever forgotten you had something perishable in the fridge? Well I had a pint of sad limp looking strawberries that somehow go pushed to the back of the fridge. Luckily they were still perfectly good to eat, but my kids would have nothing to do with them if I just put them out and said, "enjoy". So I threw them into a milkshake and added some yogurt to make it less guilty. It turned out fantastic because the tartness of the yogurt cut through the very sweet ice cream. I felt like I was at the 1950's Happy Days Diner sipping my strawberry milkshake.... all I needed was Richie Cunningham to walk through my door and a poodle skirt to make the walk down memory lane complete. Yes, I have been watching too much TV.... :)
Ingredients:
2 cups of cleaned strawberries
1 cup of milk ( I used 2%)
1 cup of vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup of plain lowfat or nonfat yogurt
Directions:
Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy.
