Let the Christmas Countdown begin! Here is the 2nd day of Christmas themed multi-blogger event. The theme for today is... Candy Canes. So I had to include my Candy Cane Milkshake because it's fun and festive. Only a Grinch would say no to this sweet and minty treat. My husband and kids went a little crazy over it so I hope you try it and enjoy it too. It's a great way to use up
those broken candy canes... so start smashing them and enjoy! PS.. Santa may enjoy a milkshake as well... :) HO!HO!HO!
Ingredients:
7-8 scoops of ice cream
1/4 cup of crushed candy canes
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 tsp of mint extract (optional)
whip cream
crushed candy canes for garnish
Directions:
In a small saucepan heat your 1/2 cup of water and crushed candy canes. Allow to boil until the candy canes are fully melted. This should take a few minutes. Then allow the "candy cane simple syrup" to cool down.
In a blender add your ice cream, milk, candy cane simple syrup, mint extract and a 2 tsp of crushed candy canes. Blend well until smooth. Pour into a glass, top with whip cream and more crushed candy canes. Enjoy.
